Photography Portfolio

Most of my work is completed using a Nikon D5100 w/ 35mm lens.

Although I once envisioned myself photographing for a living, I have grown comfortable with practicing photography as a hobby. Here I divide my work into three categories, however, they are united by similar framing strategies and light-capturing tactics.

Moments

When I first started practicing photography publicly, my first paid jobs were weddings. It turned out I hated working weddings and what I was really interested in were photos that captured small moments that make our lives unique.

Architecture

Perhaps “architecture” isn’t the right word. What these photos truly capture is light, shadow, and shape. This focus illustrates human-made structures.

Nature

This is one of my more recent interests. I didn’t really take photos of nature until I moved to Alabama in 2019. Unlike the unpredictable climate of the Midwest, being in the South allowed me to spend more time outside.
