Immigration & narratives of deservingness

I am currently recruiting interview participants for a study on deservingness narratives surrounding immigration. Often, when we see immigration discussed online, by politicians, or in the news, the conversation is about the contributions of immigrants or their potential to work. I am interested in how immigrants and their children who believe they have a calling in life or find their work meaningful are impacted by these types of conversations.
